The Foundation was established on August 5, 2023, and its principal task is to collect the official archive and publish the writings of the late Metropolitan of Pergamon John D. Zizioulas (1931—2023).

The Foundation is the legal owner of the world-wide copyrights and other intellectual property rights in Metropolitan John D. Zizioulas’ works and commissions new selections and approved translations.

Through our prizes, events, workshops and resources, the John Zizioulas Foundation aims to offer a platform for discussion designed to appeal to the widest public audience, connecting with everyone to whom Metropolitan John Zizioulas and his writings are a source of inspiration.

The Foundation permits a maximum of eight trustees all of whom must be members of the Church. New Trustees are appointed by the existing trustees when necessary or when a vacancy occurs.
